Working Holiday Visa

Working Holiday / Work and Holiday – Subclass 417 / 462

These visa streams are for people aged between 18 and 30 (or 35 in some cases) that hold a passport for a country participating in the Australia's Working Holiday Maker program. Visa purpose – Enter Australia for a holiday and be eligible to work so you can fund your holiday and stay in Australia. Visa period – The visa is granted for up to 12 months with an optional second and third visa extension (Conditions apply)

Visa eligibility and factors - Subclass 417

  • There is an age limit of 18 to 30 inclusive (35 for limited eligible passport holders of the subclass 417 visa)
  • You cannot bring your family or dependants with you
  • You should have genuine holiday and temporary work intentions
  • You should have adequate funds to support yourselves during your stay (Currently around AU$5000 + Travel ticket cost)
  • You have unlimited work eligibility during your visa stay, however there is a work eligibility of only up to 6 months with the same employer
  • There is a limited study eligibility of up to 4 months
  • Meet general Health and Character requirements
  • There may be an option to obtain second/Third visa if working in regional Australia in “Specified Work” and meet the eligibility criteria -https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/work-holiday-417/specified-work

    • English level (Functional English)
